The Cooper Foundation’s mission is to make Waco, Texas a better or more desirable city in which to live. This is realized through support of experimental projects, research, surveys, and special community needs for which normal financing is not available.

The Cooper Foundation strives to be a good steward of the extremely precious resources in our care, and we are challenged to discern difficult choices. Within that discernment process, we welcome our nonprofit friends to become engaged with our staff to discuss emergent needs and plans. The more information the Foundation staff has prior to and during proposal development, the better understanding they will have about the organization and the proposed project.

Therefore, organizations seeking funding from the Cooper Foundation are highly encouraged to discuss their grant application with Foundation staff during its preparation. While the Foundation staff cannot review the grant proposal prior to submission, we may be able to help you develop objectives and goals which will demonstrate impact in our community.

So that we can learn from the projects funded by the Cooper Foundation, grant recipients are required to make periodic progress reports.  Funds made available for grants must be expended by the recipient only in accordance with the terms specified, and any unexpended funds must be returned.
